The Opportunity

Ramsay is seeking an experienced Principal Solutions Engineer to join our team. This role uniquely combines engineering expertise, solution design, and vendor collaboration to drive innovative technology assessments. As a Principal Solutions Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing advanced cloud-based solutions while leading cross-functional teams and providing technical leadership to fellow engineers. Your role will be crucial in shaping solution designs and making key decisions that ensure the successful delivery of complex projects.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and mentor a small team of solution engineers, driving the delivery of high-quality technical solutions while fostering collaboration and professional growth.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to understand business requirements and design custom, enterprise-level cloud solutions tailored to diverse stakeholders.
  • Spearhead the design, development, and deployment of large-scale enterprise solutions, ensuring seamless integration and alignment across cloud platforms and on-premises systems.
  • Serve as a technical leader, providing guidance and mentorship to engineers and architects, ensuring adherence to enterprise architecture and integration standards.
  • Manage vendor engagements, including overseeing the RFP/RFQ process, to ensure that selected vendors align with the enterprise’s technology and business goals.
  • Work closely with enterprise architects to establish and define architectural patterns and best practices for cloud and hybrid solutions across the organisation.
  • Provide strategic input on solution designs, making informed decisions to drive the success of enterprise projects, particularly in cloud migration and integration.
  • Cultivate a culture of continuous learning, mentorship, and knowledge sharing within your team and across peer teams.

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Over 10 years of experience in cloud engineering, solution architecture, or technical architecture, with a strong focus on enterprise integration and cloud solutions.
  • Demonstrated leadership in guiding technical teams and mentoring engineers, particularly in architecture and cloud-based engineering.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with major public cloud platforms, particularly AWS (preferred) or GCP.
  • Deep understanding of enterprise integration principles, tools, and best practices, including cloud-native integration services and patterns.
  • Expertise in designing and implementing enterprise-level integration strategies across both cloud and on-premises environments.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively to develop innovative solutions that align with enterprise goals.
  • Experience in drafting options papers to guide technology assessments and selection.

Desirable

  • Prior experience in the healthcare sector, including handling confidential/private health data.
  • Experience in vendor engagement, including supporting or managing RFP/RFQ processes and vendor selection.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional.
