  • Permanent full time position: 76 hours per fortnight

 

About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and experienced Cardiac Nurse to join our dynamic unit and to be a Nurse Educator supervising and coordinating educational activities within the Cardiac unit.

The Nurse Educator is responsible for all aspects of educational and quality activities within the unit including the training for all staff (Registered Nurses, New Graduate Registered Nurses, Diploma of Nursing EN students).

Overall, the educator role provides a unique opportunity to provide clinical and professional support to the Nurse Unit Manager, nursing staff, visiting students and doctors.

The Nurse Educator plays a critical role in ensuring the delivery of high quality care in our unit consisting of 8 Critical Care (CCU) beds 4 Acute Care (ACU) beds and 19 Telemetry bed and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team including the Cath lab and interventional cardiology to develop and implement clinical education and training that will enhance patient care and safety.

 

About you

Essential Criteria:

  • Current AHPRA registration
  • Minimum 4yrs experience in cardiac nursing
  • Experience as Team Leader
  • Proven presentation and teaching skills in individual, small and large group settings
  • Knowledge of Quality / Continuous improvement processes and commitment to the achievement of excellence
  • Commitment and Positive attitude towards learning and professional development
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including communication skills
  • Hold or working towards a Graduate Certificate or similar in cardiac nursing.

 

Desirable Criteria

  • Advanced Life support certificate
  • Previous policy writing experience
  • Cert IV Training & Assessment (TAE40116) or working towards
  • Strong computer skills.

Requirements

  • Must provide a National Police check conducted within the previous 12 months
