Lake Macquarie Private Hospital is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic team player to join our team as a Pre Admissions Nurse.  

12-month Fixed Full-time, Permanent Part-time and Casual Opportunities available

About the Role

As a Pre Admissions Nurse, you will act as clinical and professional resource person demonstrating broad knowledge and clinical expertise in all facts of caring for our patients. Your role will also involve, but is not limited to;

• Facilitating the clinical assessment, education and discharge planning of patients admitted to our pre admission clinics;
• Maintaining a high level of nursing care to all patients, treating all customers with respect and equality whilst meeting all aspects of their care in a timely and professional manner; and
• Coordinating Pre-admission Clinic appointments between patients, medical staff, allied health, diagnostic services and community services.

Your Skills and Experience

• Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
• Minimum of two (2) years’ nursing experience in an acute setting
• Previous experience in a day surgery or perioperative role highly desirable
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proven ability to work in a team environment and independently as required

Remuneration

On offer is an hourly rate ranging from $36.65 - $51.47 + superannuation based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances. (NSW RN/Midwife gr1-gr8) [FTE $72,420.40- $101,704.72]

About Our Hospital

Lake Macquarie Private Hospital is a 187 bed acute Medical and advanced surgical hospital situated on the Pacific Highway at Gateshead, 15 kms south of the Newcastle CBD. The hospital is owned and operated by Ramsay Health Care Limited, the largest operator of private hospitals in Australia. Lake Macquarie Private Hospital provides private health care services to residents of the Cities of Newcastle and Lake Macquarie as well as the broader referral region of the Hunter – New England Local Government Areas.

Requirements

• Must provide a National Police check conducted within the previous 12 months
• According to the role, Ramsay may require a Working-With-Children check and proof of immunisation against infectious diseases, which may include Covid-19.
