Caloundra Private Day Hospital is on the lookout for devoted and skilled Ophthalmology Perioperative Nurses to be part of a dynamic team providing ophthalmology care for our Sunshine Coast community.

The Opportunity

Our Day Surgery unit is undergoing renovations with state of the art theatres and equipment to expand our surgical services. We are searching for experienced Perioperative Nurses specialised in ophthalmology to join us in this exciting growth!

The Day Surgery Unit is acclaimed for unwavering commitment to exceptional patient care, enhancing the patient experience through superior nursing during their perioperative journey.

Initially, you will be working at Sunshine Coast University Private Hospital, returning to Caloundra Private Hospital Day Surgery later in the year once redevelopment of theatre complex is complete.

 

Key Role Responsibilities

  • Maintaining a high level of nursing care to all patients within the day surgery unit
  • Monitoring the condition of patients during procedures and reporting changes to relevant manager and Anaesthetist / Surgeon / Physician
  • Commitment to relevant and continued professional education

 

About You

Thriving in a bustling clinical environment, you will exhibit punctuality, reliability and a proactive approach along with the following:

  • Current Registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
  • Minimum 2 years relevant nursing experience in an acute setting (including surgical) / perioperative environment desirable
  • Recent ophthalmology experience (1 year minimum) desirable
  • Any post graduate perioperative qualifications will be well regarded
  • Excellent understanding of infection prevention and control principles
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to work in a cohesive and caring team

Flexibility to work Monday to Friday mornings or evenings with possible weekends is required.

 

Remuneration

A base hourly rate ranging from $40.47 - $52.19 + superannuation, based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances (QLD RN/RM Level 1.2-1.8).

Requirements

  • Must provide a National Police check conducted within the previous 12 months
