The Opportunity

Step into the newly created role of Clinical Implementation Lead, where you'll drive transformative change by combining clinical expertise with innovative procurement strategies. You'll lead initiatives to ensure the procurement of safe, high-quality, and cost-effective clinical products, manage the implementation of new contracts, and revolutionise product categorisation within the SAP catalogue. Your efforts will directly reduce costs and risks for Ramsay Australia, making a significant impact on the quality and efficiency of healthcare delivery.

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide clinical guidance and support for sourcing projects and broader business initiatives, ensuring alignment with clinical and safety standards.
  • Stay current with procurement activities and product availability, assisting in identifying and evaluating suitable alternative products.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and hospital operations to foster effective collaboration.
  • Position procurement as a trusted partner by nurturing robust connections with hospital, clinical, and procurement teams, enhancing decision-making and ensuring compliance through dashboards and contract management.
  • Offer expert advice on capital equipment procurement, ensuring that equipment specifications and solutions are clearly understood and appropriate.
  • Assist the National Product Evaluation Committee (NPEC), Spend Controls, and Capital Buying Windows in ensuring the effectiveness of controls and processes, and support their development through consultation with Procurement and Hospital operations.
  • Contribute to the New Item Request Process by providing clinical input on alternative options, especially when strategic supply partners are involved.

About You

To excel in this role, you’ll need to exhibit strong leadership acumen, serve as the subject matter expert in clinical product categorisation, and have a proven track record of building strong, positive, and professional relationships with suppliers, hospital executives, VMOs, and other key stakeholders.

Your Skills and Experience

  • Clinical background (e.g., nursing, or allied health) with experience in a healthcare setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of medical devices, including consumables, implants, and equipment.
  • Comprehensive understanding of procurement processes and the healthcare supply chain.
  • Familiarity with clinical governance principles and related legislation.
  • Proven ability to build relationships and manage stakeholders effectively, including internal and external functions such as Procurement, Clinical Leadership, Clinical Staff, Supply Teams, Visiting Medical Officers, and Suppliers.
  • Strong organisational skills with the capability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks, including new project work.

Desirable

  • Registered Nurse with a perioperative background and experience across multiple specialties.
  • Experience as a clinical educator, specialty ANUM, or similar roles.
  • Proven involvement in product sourcing, clinical product assessment, and evaluation.
  • Proficient in SAP or other enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Knowledgeable in project management with hands-on experience in change management programs.
