The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Social Worker to join our dynamic and supportive team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-quality, person-centred care to patients and their families, supporting them through the emotional and practical challenges associated with illness, injury, and hospitalisation. We are looking for someone to start 2-3 days per week to cover current leave.

The successful candidate will provide high quality direct social work service to all inpatients of the hospital as required. This includes counselling, access to support services and discharge planning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver psychosocial support to clients experiencing mental health challenges
• Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment
• Contribute to care planning, advocacy, group facilitation, and recovery-oriented practices

The successful candidate will meet the following criteria:

• Bachelor of Social Work
• Minimum 3 years experience
• Eligible for full membership of Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
• Demonstrated ability to utilise a variety of social work interventions
• Demonstrated experience in health social work practice
• Knowledge of community resources services to meet patient needs
• Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and independently as required
• Willingness to uphold the Ramsay Way core values
• Experience in Rehabilitation and/or Mental Health highly desirable.

Essential Criteria:

• Tertiary qualification in Social Work
• Eligibility for membership with the AASW (or relevant registration body)
• Demonstrated experience in  health settings
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Remuneration:

 Grade 2 (year level dependant on experience) + casual loading + superannuation, exclusive of penalties or allowances.

Requirements

• Must provide a National Police Check conducted within the previous 12 months
• According to the role, Ramsay may require a Working-With-Children check and proof of immunisation against infectious diseases.
